Part of Punjabi Samvad since 2004, Jyoti Bawa leads work across women’s empowerment, education, public health, mental well-being, substance-abuse awareness and Punjabi culture.
She wrote and directed Khooh Bolda Hai and has used writing, poetry, books, documentary storytelling and other creative formats for social awareness.
For more than a decade she has helped organise platforms celebrating Punjabi art and culture. In 2017, she represented Punjabi culture at the World Punjabi Conference in Canada.
After Amit Bawa’s passing in 2014, Jyoti Bawa continued the work they started and now leads the organisation’s wider national focus.
